This beautiful 18th century oil portrait is by Herman Van Der Mijn. Van Der Minj was a Dutch portraitist who worked in England with his older son Frans. He was a pupil of Ernst Stuven (1660-1712), and he gained the patronage of Queen Caroline in 1727. He also travelled with Prince William IV of Orange Nassau to the Netherlands in 1736.
